1. I would like more police patrolling more of my neighborhood. The current focus is on the hotspots, which is driving the crime to the fringes of the neighborhood. The prostitutes and dealers are getting bolder.
2. I would like for the police to be allowed to do whatever is needed in order to make our streets safer. Your post a few days ago, about stop-and-frisk, struck a chord. No more of this city administration interference. If the city would stop worrying about getting sued, officers could be a lot more effective.
3. I would love to see some of our officers walking around, getting to know people in the neighborhoods. This would foster greater trust and communication, and might make people more willing to report crimes and/or cooperate with investigations.
4. Somebody needs to sit the states attorney and judges down and point out that they are letting dangerous people go, who end up killing someone.(case in point, Hammond Street murder)
Let's all start looking out for each other. I was told that some one (who is well liked) at the Sheriff's Office made the statement that "i'm gonna take care of me first" that's all well and good but if you and like minded people can't get your heads out of your a$$e$ you will lose in the long run. I wish i was there, maybe next month. Thanks for firing me up because now i have a renewed cause. You pantywaste of a cop. That is if you did say it. If not then i'm sorry.
I would like to see better requirements for fitness. There are several officers in all the local three agencies that are way out of shape.
I would like a certain state agency to not treat the westside of a certain county like they are to good to come down here for a complaint.
