PRMC Employee Reports Jump In Assaults

During a candid interview with a PRMC employee, who wished to remain anonymous, we will call her "Stacy" reported a large jump in assaults within this past year. Stacy reported that she regularly attends to patients who have either been stabbed, otherwise assaulted, or shot on a nightly basis in Salisbury. The majority of patents are coming from the Salisbury Area although some are coming from outlying areas in Wicomico County and even as far away as Ocean City, Berlin, Cambridge, and Easton. Stacy contributes some of the increase to summer however she commented that she has never seen an dramatic increase of assault calls on a daily basis since she has been working for the hospital. Stacy also advised a dramatic increase in wait times and staffing issues citing a shortage on medical personnel and Physical Assistants.

Physician Assistants are qualified medical personnel who are not doctors. P.A.'s, as they are commonly known, require about four years of schooling and must be under the supervision, albeit remote, of an actual physician. P.A.'s can also operate their own clinics such as the Salisbury Immediate Care facility on Route 13 South.

The Obama administration is pushing for "Centralized Heath care" or a government controlled health care. Part of the concern is that people would not be able to pick their own physicians. Under the current health care system people still have the right, and can not be turned away, from hospitals if they require treatment for ailments. Additionally many local programs exist to provide health care to the indigent without cost to them. What do you think?

As much as I hate giving Joe Albero credit for anything this is one thing he has mentioned on his blog a few times only to be disregarded by many. Many of the comments made concerning this were obviously made by PRMC personnel. I don't understand the need or desire to hide this information. If the city/county administration, police and sheriffs office wants community participation they need to be more forthcoming with information. This keep crap quiet to provide a false blanket of security is shit for the birds. It's not working. Let people know what is really going on in the city they'll either start making anonymous calls or they'll hide within their homes. Either way, something has got to give.
