What the crap?

What the crap is going on with the crime rate in this county?! It is out of control. In our on going segment "how to solve crime problems" we are going to make an intermediate break from our chapter series after getting multiple emails from officers from several different agencies. The lack of proper equipment continues to plague departments. We can not understand how it is more important to have rugs, plaques, still be concerned over non essential issues such as "maintain control" over line personnel when long guns still have not been issued to officers who are literally on the front lines of a battle with armed robbers. We feel it is only a matter of time before a gun battle occurs between police and the criminals. If cops are trusted to take peoples freedom away and are trusted with handguns why is it so difficult to have long guns issued to personnel? Even if the depth don't have money to issue all officers long guns in these times they should allow officers to have their own longguns with them as long as they have range time. We urge all departments to allow long guns and backup weapons immediately to prevent the death of or serious injuries to THEIR police officers and allow the officers to have the proper equipment to protect the tax paying public from armed marauders plaguing out society.
